A science-based learning community seeking to build a better Peru

#NoScienceNoFuture  It is urgent for education to be strongly connected to scientific research, from school and for life.

The recent global emergency caused by Covid-19 has strongly impacted the roles played by students, parents and teachers. The new classroom is virtual and remote. We see this situation as an opportunity to awaken the scientific interest of school students based on their curiosity, observation and inquiry into their everyday environment.

Based on our desire to act as scientists and conscientious citizens, we decided to share the lessons we are learning during our scientific training with the next generation of Peruvian students. Honoring the community-led construction of scientific knowledge, we have transformed our connections with experts in the scientific world into contributions to scientific education and dissemination. Professionally, our path in science continues, we continue with our own research projects, our networks continue to grow and our passion to contribute to the improvement of scientific literacy in school education in Peru gives shape and energy to ComunaCiencia.
